Proximity Coach Travel Launches Charity Fundraising Initiative

At Proximity Coach Travel, we believe that business is about more than getting people from A to B. It’s also about supporting our communities and helping make a positive difference wherever we can.

That’s why we’re launching a new fundraising initiative to support charitable causes, starting with muscular dystrophy research and the people and families affected by the condition.

Supporting Muscular Dystrohpy Research

Muscular dystrophy is a group of muscle-wasting conditions that can have a significant impact on everyday life. There are more than 30 types of muscular dystrophy, and while research continues to make progress, there is still much more to be done.

For people living with these conditions and their families, continued investment in research, clinical trials and support services is vital.

Sean Spencer knows first-hand how muscular dystrophy can affect a family. His father, Roger Spencer, lived with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy and sadly passed away at the age of 55. Sean was diagnosed with the same condition in his early 30s.

Looking back, Sean recalls first noticing changes in his fitness after returning from a year of travelling in his mid-twenties. At the time, he assumed he was simply out of shape. It was only later that he recognised these changes may have been the beginning of his muscle deterioration.

Since his diagnosis, Sean has remained committed to supporting research into muscular dystrophy. Through charity events and the support of friends who give their time to organise and take part in fundraising activities, he continues to help raise awareness and contribute towards research.

For Sean, taking part in these events is about more than raising money. They also help him stay positive about the future and provide an opportunity to bring people together for a worthwhile cause.

His story highlights the importance of continued research, community support and fundraising for everyone affected by muscular dystrophy.

Although research has brought progress and hope, there is still no cure for many forms of the condition. Continued fundraising plays an important role in supporting research and improving the support available to those living with muscular dystrophy.

Every Booking Can Make a Difference

To help support this work, Proximity Coach Travel is launching a fundraising campaign running until the end of November.

During the campaign, £2 from every eligible supplier price will be donated, with Proximity matching that contribution.

It’s a simple way for us to turn our everyday business activities into something positive, helping support research and the people and families who need it.

We know that small contributions can add up when people and businesses work together towards a shared goal. By matching the donation, we hope to give every contribution even greater impact.

Working Together to Support Worthwile Causes

Fundraising can take many forms, from sponsored challenges and sporting events to raffles, community activities and social gatherings. Whatever the event, the generosity of the people who organise, support and take part is what makes it possible.

At Proximity Coach Travel, we work with a wide network of transport suppliers, businesses, schools, groups and event organisers. This initiative gives us another opportunity to put those relationships to good use and support causes that make a difference to people’s lives.

We hope the campaign will help raise awareness of muscular dystrophy, support ongoing research and encourage more people to get involved in charitable giving.

Looking Ahead

This is our latest fundraising initiative, and we look forward to building on it by supporting worthwhile causes and working alongside people and organisations who make a difference in their communities.

Whether you’re arranging transport for a charity event, planning a group trip or organising a community activity, our team is here to help with your coach and minibus travel requirements.

We believe that when people come together, even small actions can have a lasting impact. By combining our everyday work with a commitment to giving something back, we hope to help make a difference to causes like muscular dystrophy research.

At Proximity Coach Travel, we’re proud to help keep people moving — and to support the causes that move us.
