Kathryn Cordey-Hanson

Chief Executive Officer
Kath swapped the classroom for the boardroom in 2025, leaving the teaching profession after 20 years in a local primary school.

Spearheading our strategy in the education sector, Kath plays a key role in working with the many schools, colleges, universities, language schools and Tour Operators that Proximity Coach Travel deals with daily.

Kath is hands-on across every function of the business, particularly with risk assessments, safeguarding, policy management and compliance, with our vetted supply chain.

Kath is a quite brilliant leader, supporting our people with ongoing training, incentives and a weekly Friday free lunch for the team.

In her spare time, Kath is an avid book reader, enjoys the gym and is partial to a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

Matt Hanson

The Coach Wizard
Kath’s husband, Matt is the industry ‘Coach Wizard’ and has made a career out of studying the market, delivering the right price to the customer, and fulfilling requirements through his extensive supply chain contacts, many spanning three-decades.

Matt is responsible for strategy, operations and supply chain management  - an area that he offers to other organisations through his Coach Wizard consultancy.

A regular speaker on the education circuit, Matt represents Proximity at key events and conferences.

In his spare time, Matt is a Burnley FC ticket holder, plays very mediocre padel and is very much a coach anorak, 24/7.

Vinny Hanson

Director of Business Development
Vinny completes the family triangle at the helm of Proximity, joining his brother and sister-in-law in a newly created, board level role in the early autumn of 2026. 

With over 15 years in a senior sales capacity in the franking machine industry, Vinny will be tasked with putting his own stamp on the business development arm of Proximity.

Vinny is a particularly strong networker, and his infectious personality is sure to rub off on the people he meets on the business and education circuit.

Outside of the business, Vinny is a record-breaking wicketkeeper for Lancashire League side, Rawtenstall Cricket, where is he also Chairman. Like Matt, Vinny is also a season ticket holder at Burnley Football Club.

Lauren Heys

Business Development Executive
Lauren joined the business in early 2026 having started her career as a Teaching Assistant. Drawn by the business potential, she initially joined us in a support position, but quickly demonstrated her ability to communicate brilliantly with our customer base.

Under the tutorage of Kath, Lauren has developed into a highly valued member of the team and is now a dedicated resource to the sales arm of the business reporting into Vinny.

In her spare time Lauren further demonstrates her entrepreneurial spirit by buying and selling on Vinted, with great success. She is also a fitness freak, loves a good music concert and tries to cram as many holidays as she can with her annual leave!

Holly Hill

Reservations Manager
Holly is a highly organised and highly talented individual.  Her attention to detail has led to her going from a temporary member of the team to being the central cog in the operation, managing customer and supplier bookings with aplomb.

Holly takes care of every single booking from the point of acceptance to the point of delivery, and our customers tell us that her meticulous approach, speedy communications and pro-active information that she provides is outstanding.  Check out our Trustpilot reviews to see what people say!

She loves all animals, and in her spare time, Holly has a dog and a horse that take up much of her life outside of Proximity.  She also likes a trip to the Lakes, which is her happy place.

Jackie Brennand

Financial Controller
Jackie is an experienced finance and all-round business professional, stemming from running many small to medium sized businesses throughout her career spanning 40 years.

Her understanding and appreciation of financial operations, resilience and the day-to-day realities of running a company has been invaluable as Proximity continues to grow, month-on-month, year-on-year.

She is all things finance, juggling her time between Purchase Ledger and Credit Control, whilst also trying to enjoy the many fine things she likes outside of work which include luxury long-haul travel, wholesome weekend retreats and spending time with her grandchildren.

Andy Buttery

Marketing Manager
Andy is our creative marketing guru and started working with the business in October 2025. With over two decades of experience across design, branding and marketing, Andy helps to shape the Proximity brand and brings our ideas to life.

He understands the business ethos and our core values, expertly handling web, print and promotional campaigns. Andy created the Proximity visual identity and ensures marketing collateral is on message and within guidelines.

Alongside creative branding and design, Andy is also a digital artist - you might find him wandering the Lancashire hills gaining inspiration for his artwork. He's also a keen runner, but is happiest spending time with his family and three daughters.
